BYOD Initiative
Glossop High School is rolling out a new BYOD initiative. This new initiative forms a key part of our Schools ICT plan and strategy leading into 2022 where all students will be required to bring a device/laptop to school.
This new initiative works though an online portal, backed by reputable Australian education IT company called EDUNET. Through this portal you as a parent/carer can buy/payoff a Laptop device from a small range of good quality devices for your child. Most of these devices will be at a much cheaper price than retail.
For 2021, all students in Year 8, 11 and 12 are required to bring their own device. With the remaining year levels 9 and 10 required to bring a device from 2022.
As part of this program, and through new deals we as a school have been able to broker, we will also be able to provide almost all necessary software your child needs for their learning programs absolutely free. This includes software like:
- Microsoft Office (Office 365) and Google Education Suite
- Cloud based file storage through Microsoft One Drive and Google Drive
- Adobe Software (such as Photoshop and other Creative Cloud Applications)
- Sketch Up
- And our CAD software from Auto Desk used in Design and Technology.
To purchase a device through our school BYOD buying portal, use the below link (Be sure to enter code GHS2020):
